The Challenge
On a live airport capital works project, thousands of engineering drawings moved between consultants, contractors, and internal teams. Wrong versions or slow RFI responses risked delays and failed audits.
Objectives
Keep the Master Document Register accurate and up to date
Process RFIs, submittals, and transmittals under project SLA
Reduce version mix-ups before they reached stakeholders
Give leadership clear visibility on outstanding RFIs
The Approach
Used Oracle Aconex as the single source for drawings and correspondence, with Excel tracking for RFI turnaround and regular checks against naming and metadata rules before files were accepted.
